Some people caught fish and other did not. Fishing really varied day-to-day, and over all, bass fishing was the best. While bass fishing may have been the best, striper, catfish, bluegill and carp were also in the mix. Bass fishing was the best in the morning hours, working dark plastics along the reeds and off the points along the south Shore and the East End. The water level has been going up which has pushed some bass into the shallows, but not much bedding going on, so it appears most of the bass have spawned.

Stripers were the best by the dam and the inlet, hitting anchovies and chicken liver, although some morning top water action was reported. Most fish have been small near the 1 to 2 lb. range.

Cats are hitting in the coves as are bluegills. Catfish are hitting mostly mackerel, but other cat baits are also working as nothing stands drastically out as a top bait. Bluegills are hitting floated worms off the bottom along the South Shore and back in the Ramp # 2 area.

Now to cover some announcements; the Solar Cup event will be going on at Lake Skinner May 13th thru May 15th, during that time access to the East End will be restricted due to the event. Also we have the Temecula Balloon & Wine Festival will be taking place June 3rd, 4th & 5th,the lake will be closed for all fishing during the event.

Good luck fishing and Happy Tails.
