Well the weather played a role again this past week as far as fish production was concerned. The first system that pushed through SoCal seemed to stun the fishing as mid-week proved to be slow from all of the fishing fronts, but as the cold remained the fishing improved as trout began to bite as well as the striper.

Trout hit near Ramp #2 in the morning hours for fishermen and back in the East End for boaters. Blown-up worms worked the best but Powerbait did well as did some spoons.

Stripers picked up in the later half of the week with the Inlet and the Dam being the top spots, but Ramp #2 and the East End also produced some numbers. Chicken liver seemed to be the top bait this week over all, however anchovies remain strong as well.

The lake dropped several feet and has slowly begun to rise this past week which seemed to stun the bass and drove them deep. We are hopeful that with the drop coinciding with the cold front that this will not hurt the upcoming spawn.

Good Luck Fishing and Happy Tails.

As far as the average fishermen go, fishing was a tough one this past week. Stripers were the bulk of this week's action with the dam and inlet retaining the top spot. Anchovies were the best bait. Trout also provided some action mostly for shore...... Read More

Even with a stock under the belt, the lake failed to produce good numbers of trout this weekend, which is hardly surprising due to the recent warm weather in Southern California. Best bet for those late season would be in the East End by boat using lures or blown-up worms. Deeper waters near ramp # 2 may also produce some stocked trout by using powerbait. Striper action was fair. Boat action was the best with the dam and inlet moving into...... Read More
