Despite cold weather and wind, a few of our fisherman had a great time this weekend. Pete Wyne of Hemet was fishing off the points using custom-made Excel lures and caught his limit on trout, nice, full tail holdovers, most about 2 lbs. each. Mike, Colt, and Anthony Johnson, residents of Monifee, were shorefishing near the marina using purple powerbait. Colt, age 9, brought in 2 trouts and Mike and Anthony, one each. All were 12-16" in length. Owen Clark, age 3, was fishing with his dad using nightcrawlers across from the marina. Owen cauight his first trout that weighed about 1 1/2 lbs. Tyler and Shalena Becker, a resident of Riverside, were using green powerbait out on the government strip and caught 2 nice sized trout.

Last week's storm brought 8 1/2" of rain to the lake and raised the level of the lake over 6 feet. Murky conditions existed for several days bu this past weekend, fishing began to pick up a bit. Paul Perfetti and his friend were trolling the lake with worms and powerbait and reeled in 8 trout, most 14" in size. Joe & Michelle Morgan were trolling by the dam using needlefish and each of them caught their limit. Pete Wynn was trolling the south shore using excel black lures and limited out on trout.
