Trout action slowed with the arrival of the summer heat. Anglers used Power Bait ( especially salmon peach, garlic and orange), night crawlers, jigs and lures. Best bite was before 10 am and after 1 pm. Hot spots included the grassy pointand the eastern and western shores of lake 3 as well as the western and northern shores of lake 2. Catfish were biting on shrimp and night crawlers with anglers catching their limits from the western and northern shores of lake 2 and the western shore and grassy point of lake 3. Bass action slowed this week with anglers drop shotting night crawlers to catch fish up to 3 pounds. Hot spots for bass included the northern and western shores of lake 3 and the western and southern shores of lake 2. Bluegill are biting meal worms and small jigs from the southern and eastern shore of lake 2 and the northern and western shores of lake 3 . Float Tubers are reporting very good action on the Bass Lake using jigs with good top water action as well as drop shots. The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round. This year the Lakes' hatchery is amping up the weekly trout stockings with bigger fish overall. Fishing hours is from Friday through Sunday, 7am to 4pm. Anglers worked their tackle boxes again this week with Power Bait ( especially salmon peach, orange, garlic, spring green), night crawlers, jigs and lures all catching limits. Best bite was before 10 am and after 1 pm (depending on the afternoon winds). Most trout were near or over 2 pounds.
