Anglers worked their tackle boxes again this week with Power Bait ( especially salmon peach, orange, garlic, spring green), night crawlers, jigs and lures all catching limits. Best bite was before 10 am and after 1 pm (depending on the afternoon winds). Most trout were near or over 2 pounds. Hot spots included the grassy point and the eastern and western shores of lake 3 as well as the western and northern shores of lake 2. Catfish were biting on shrimp and night crawlers with anglers catching their limits from the western and northern shores of lake 2. Bass are active with anglers using senkos, spinner bait and night crawlers to catch fish up to 5 pounds. Hot spots for bass included the northern and western shores of lake 3 and the western and southern shores of lake 2. Bluegill are still not completely active with the continuing cool temperatures but a few limits are being caught on the southern and eastern shore of lake 2 and the northern and western shores of lake 3 on night crawlers, meal worms and small jigs.

We will be stocking 2000 lbs of catfish on June 29th. The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round. This year the Lakes' hatchery is amping up the weekly trout stockings with bigger fish overall. For more information call (760)240-1107 or go to www.jessranchlakesnews.com
