Lake Elevation: 1666.10
Surface water temp: 67 - 70 degrees
Fish Plants: Scheduled trout plants will resume when surface temps decrease.
Lake Hours: 5:45am to 6:45pm
Weather: Temperatures have been in the 60's in the morning and rising to the high 80's in the afternoon.
BASS
DVL males are still up tight but to anglers delight big girls are in 20 feet of water and ready to bite. For most anglers the drop shot was hot. Morning dawn and margarita mutilator were failsafe colors for drop shot lovers. If you're looking for something big you can drag a C rig 20 - 30 feet with a brush hog, reaper, or creature. The morning is great for a topwater slaughter. Some bass are on the shad so flukes and scroungers aren't bad.
TROUT
The trout train is winding down! For shore anglers that is all she wrote, so to catch a trout fish from a boat. Panther Martins, mini jigs, and nightcrawlers are great lures for those bows.
STRIPER
The big stripers are MIA, but the little guys have come out to play. Without the trout stocks look for bird flocks. Stripers want silversides and shad so Kastmasters and scroungers either trolling or casting aren't bad
. CATFISH
Fishing at DVL for a channel or blue cut bait will do. Anchovies, Mackerel or shrimp won't leave your line limp. The attenuator is the best place to anchor to catch a cat just like that. Terry " Pontoon" Lairson of Huntington Beach caught two cats at 16 and 14.8 pounds fishing near the attenuator with mackerel.
PANFISH
Bluegill is bold but crappie is spotty. Shore anglers should fish in the twigs with worms or jigs. From a boat fish the dams with a worm and a float.
