Warm Weather Brings Catfish to San Bernardino County Regional Parks Lakes
Season starts May 29th

(San Bernardino) After a hearty trout season San Bernardino County fisherman look forward to catching catfish. The county's Regional Parks Department will begin stocking 750 pounds of catfish on May 27th and on each Thursday through September 2nd at the following locations:

Cucamonga Guasti, Ontario
Glen Helen, Devore
Prado, Chino
Yucaipa, Yucaipa
Mojave Narrows, Victorville

Catfish season officially opens May 29th - just in time for the Memorial Day weekend. It also provides fishermen an opportunity to discover the various amenities within the parks.

After reeling in their catches, the Regional Parks offer picnic areas and shelters with barbecues for anglers to cook up a fine meal or enjoy a picnic. There are playgrounds that children will enjoy climbing or swinging. Prado, Yucaipa and Mojave Narrows offer camping - a great way to spend an evening and be on site early in the morning to begin casting away.

Memorial Day weekend will kick-off swim season and pools will be open at Cucamonga-Guasti, Glen Helen and Yucaipa. The pools will open on weekends only until the third week in June and will then open Tuesdays through Sundays.

Vehicle entry into the park is $7 during the week and $10 on weekends and holidays. Fishing is $7. A State fishing license is required and may be purchased at the park.

San Bernardino County Regional Parks offer families a way to relax, play and stay affordably. With nine locations throughout the county, people have access to recreational entertainment as close as their backyard.
