Well the cooler weather never really showed, and the striper bite remained almost non-existent. Few fishermen reported any linesides this past week, most of those who did report any said they got them off of chicken liver bottom fishing near the dam. The good news is that this is also the best method to catch the catfish this time of the year which some fishermen did get. Trout was the main action this past week, as they were stocked and several people reported get near limits on the rainbows. Fishing for the trout was best in the morning hours and evening hours. Spinner baits and kastmasters picked a few trout out of the waters, but the best bait remains powerbait and nightcrawlers. A few more hold over trout are starting to show up in the East End, however most of the trout action is on the newly stocked near Ramp # 2. Again some bass and bluegill action reported, but nothing to get too excited over. With this weather we have coming next week, we look forward to a higher water level, cooler water temps, and a return of the striper bite.

The following are the fish ratings:

Bass: Fair
Bluegill: Fair
Carp: Poor
Catfish: Fair
Crappie: Poor
Striper: Fair
Trout: Excellent

Some are finding them trolling deep with swimbaits and rattle traps, while others are picking up a few bait fishing anchovies and...... Read More
