Nacimiento rose to 39 percent of its storage capacity, and the water was muddy. Following recent storms, fishing pressure was light, and most anglers reported working small soft plastics deep and slow on rocky points and drop-offs. Drop-shot rigs, grubs, and 4-inch curly-tail worms in purple, brown, and dark green fooled largemouth and spotted bass in 10 to 30 feet of water. White bass action slowed as the rain pushed shad schools deeper in the water column, where metering bait and probing with spoons is normally effective when the bite gets tough. Catfish and crappie reports were scarce.
