The lake held near 90 percent of its storage capacity and water temperatures fell into the mid-seventies. Fishing has been excellent for anglers who scoop live shad. Largemouth, smallmouth, and striped bass have been chasing bait for months now, and split shot live shad were the best technique for nonstop action. Lure anglers chased boils with topwater lures, Flukes, and spoons, but heavy pressure made for tough boil fishing. Bass anglers used finesse baits and topwater lures on the small and largemouth which chased bait closer to shore. Catfish anglers rigged up garlic scented nightcrawlers and cut baits for good results.
