The lake held at 92 percent of its storage capacity, and water temperatures remained in the low eighties. Fishing has been decent and fishing pressure has been minimal. The grass mats are thick and filled with bass. Anglers used weedless frogs, and other topwater lures early in the day to pull large and smallmouth from the weed beds. Crankbaits and jerkbaits also enticed plenty of bass along grass lines. Texas rigs and other weedless options tossed into weed holes, pockets, and along bluff walls scored bites as well. Striper ate cut sardines, anchovies and lugworms in the inlet, at Yellowbar, and near Chumash Island. Shore anglers have been dealing with the thick weeds, but boat anglers did fine in 25 to 50 feet of water on main lake points.
