Castaic Lake rose slightly to 94 percent of its storage capacity, and water temperatures held near 80 degrees. Striped bass have been boiling throughout the lake and anglers did well with topwater lures, spoons, and weightless Flukes. Most of the fish were in the two-to-three-pound range, but some bigger zebras took baits too. Large and smallmouth bass have been taking topwater poppers and walking baits in the AM. Fishing deeper with drop shot and Carolina rigged C3 baits worked well later in the day. Baitfish, green, and brown all worked for bites. Catfish anglers used dip baits for decent results in the coves east of the marina.
