A lot of anglers have been chasing boils

Castaic Lake held near 93 percent of its storage capacity, and water temperatures were between 76 and 80 degrees. A lot of anglers have been chasing boils, but recreational boat traffic made boil chasing tough. Anglers must be rigged up and ready with topwater, Flukes, and spoons. Long casts avoid scaring the surface feeding schools. Bass anglers worked the 10-to-20-foot zone with drop shot, Senkos, and Carolina rigged C3 baits for good action on smaller grade fish. Afternoon mudlines produced large and smallmouth for anglers throwing shad-colored square billed cranks and jerks. Catfish ate chicken liver and dip bait in deeper coves around the lake, and bluegill were available in just about any cove with submerged brush and weeds.
