Folks have been asking what gear to get ready for the start of rockfish season. We recommend having a few different options. Your lighter tackle in the 15 to 20 pound range as well as something with a little more in the 25 to 30 pound range. The season begins April 1with an all depths fishery. Meaning we are not constrained to fishing in any one particular area. This provides us the opportunity to either start in the shallow water and work our way deep or start deep and work our way in shallow. Having been off the water and out of these areas for quite some time now the first few trips will be testing a little bit of everything.
