Lugworms have been a great bait to fool striped bass lately, but the line sides also ate cut sardines and jumbo live minnows. Most anglers have been fishing early or late in the day which is the best time to hook up while using artificial baits as well. Jerkbaits, flukes, and small swimbaits fooled line-sides during low light conditions. Bass anglers did well on finesse baits, topwater poppers, and shad imitation swimbaits. They’ve been scoring Bass around bridges on drop shot and one local angler reported a 6-pound Bass earlier this week. Catfish anglers reported good fishing with garlic nightcrawlers, Triple S dip bait, and cut sardines. Slab sized bluegill were reported by anglers fishing live worms in the outtake grates.
