Isabella has increased to 80 percent of capacity and continues to fill. The crappie bite moved in the right direction this week. We had multiple reports of anglers with limits of crappie off Rocky Point and in the South Fork area with live shiners. Crappie were found suspended in 20 to 30-feet of water and in shallow around rocks and submerged trees. One of our contacts reported solid action trolling Gent Bent Swim baits on a 1/16th oz head as well as some #5 Flicker Shad from rocky point to Camp 9. The Bass have been moving and changing daily with inflows and weather changes. There was a decent Bass bite in the North Fork area on flukes, Senkos and crankbaits. One of our contacts reported decent action all day with underspins, stick baits and football jigs. The 32 Annual Lake Isabella trout derby ended last weekend and tag number 197 worth $1000 was caught two days before the end of derby. The trout bite continues be solid around the lake with trout jigs, various Powerbait flavors, spinnerbaits, and Pinched Crawlers. One local boat angler reported a steady bite all day with the best action on the Tasmanian Devils at a higher speed. The whiskerfish action continues to be very good with chicken liver, SSS dip bait and shrimp.
