The bass bite was solid last week for the boat and kayak crowd. Many of the bass have been holding in the reeds and cattails and techniques like flipping, pitching, and working baits tight to cover has been a great way to get bit. Weightless Senkos, creature baits, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits all got attention from the largemouth. Green Pumpkin and Baby Bass worked well for soft plastics while white and baitfish colors worked well for reaction baits. Crappie anglers did well with small live minnows, minijigs, and small swimbaits.
