Isabella has slightly decreased to 52 percent of capacity. Crappie seem to be getting more active, but not wide open. Crappie have been found in 10 to 20-feet of water around structure with minijigs and live minnows. The Bass bite is fair and can be found off main and secondary lake points. Bass have been coming on big worms, deep diving crankbaits, trout swimbaits, and crawdad patterned baits. The catfish action has improved with whiskerfish coming on live minnows, triple S dip bait, cutbait and shrimp. From shore, trout anglers have been scoring with garlic scented baits, spinners, and trout jigs. There’s a scheduled trout plant here by DFWL during the week of April 23rd. The Annual Isabella Lake Fishing Derby has been pushed back to May 20th - June 4th, 2023. There are 500 tagged trout valued from $20 to $10,000 with $50,000 in tagged-fish-cash and prizes up for grabs. For more information contact Copes Tackle or visit KernRiverValley.com.
