This week Isabella rose to 16 percent capacity and continues to rise at a steady pace. The Crappie bite has been solid on the day’s anglers were able to get out between storms. We had good reports of fish over two pounds coming on various jigs and live shiners. The best action has been around structure in 20 to 25 feet of water. The largemouth bass action is fair over main lake points at depths to 35 feet. It’s been quality over quantity the past couple weeks on swimbaits, deep-diving crankbaits, jigs, and big worms. The catfish bite has been decent for some anglers and not so good for others. A few Whiskerfish were taken on Triple S Dip Bait, cut mackerel and nightcrawlers. The first trout plant of the season is slated for the week of January 22nd. The Annual Isabella Lake Fishing Derby is scheduled from April 1st thru June 4th, 2023.
