Isabella is rising slightly and is just over 12 percent capacity. The annual Isabella Lake Fishing Derby kicked off last weekend and is running through July 4th. There have been multiple tagged fish caught with fish to 9.5 pounds reported. Shore anglers have scored trout with minijigs, various Powerbait offerings, Pinched Crawlers, Roostertails and mice tails. Trout have been coming from shore around South Fork to the Dam, and the Dam to French Gulch. Boat anglers have done well with multiple tags reported trolling leadcore followed by Flicker shad, Tasmanian Devils and Needlefish. The Crappie bite is good for some and slower for others. The key is to move around and find the schools that are biting in 12 to 20-feet of water. The usual offerings have been working like minijigs and live minnows. The Bass bite is still on the slower side. Bass have been coming on big worms, deep diving crankbaits, trout imitation swimbaits, and crawdad imitation baits. The catfish bite is steady with cutbait, shrimp, and dip baits.
