Conditions at Pyramid Lake have not changed in several weeks. The lake level remained near 88 percent of capacity, and cold-water temperatures kept large and smallmouth tight lipped. There has been a short window in the mornings to fool better grade bass with deep diving crankbaits and jerkbaits. After that bass anglers have been using soft plastics in deeper water for bites. Anglers should be prepared for the bass to move shallow any day. Striper ate cut baits near Yellowbar, Serrano, and the Marina. The line sides also went for trolled umbrella rigs and spoons in deeper water. Catfish anglers used anchovies, dip bait, and nightcrawlers to fool fish in deeper coves throughout the lake, and trout anglers reported solid fishing for rainbows up to two pounds. Get Bent Minijigs, nightcrawlers, and dough bait all worked for bites near the marina. Trout anglers also reported good fishing near Serrano, Yellowbar, and the dam.
