The lake held at 9 percent capacity this week. The trout bite has been fair, but with next week’s trout plant it should start to improve. Anglers can find trout with garlic scented dough bait, pinched crawlers, spinners and minijigs. Boat anglers trolling needlefish or flicker shad can find them around the dam. The bass fishing has been fair. One of our contacts reported fish being found both shallow (around the rocky points), and deep in 60 to 80-feet. The shallow water fish are going for crankbaits, underspins, and worms. The fish that are down deep are going for spoons and ice jigs. The crappie are still showing but most of them have been found around structure in shallower water than weeks past. Some larger slabs are being caught in 40 plus feet of water with minnows and minijigs. The catfish bite remains decent, and anglers are finding success with chicken liver, dip baits, and cut baits.
