The lake held this week just shy of 9 percent capacity. There continues to be a solid bass bite for quality fish. The numbers aren’t there yet, but the quality is. Earlier this week on Monday, one of our contacts scored a 6 and 8 lbs bass with a trout imitation swimbait. The better model fish have been coming on Trout imitation swimbaits, big worms, large profile jigs and creature baits. There were reports of crappie being caught this week in the French Gulch area on minijigs and small/medium minnows. Structure is key to finding fish and they’ve been in 10 to 25-feet of water. The catfish bite is steady on Dip Baits, live minnows and nightcrawlers. The trout bite improved thanks to the heavy stocking last week. Trout can be caught with garlic scented baits, spinners, mice tails and worms. Boaters can find them trolling leadcore with needlefish, Tasmanian devils and flicker shad around the dam. There’s another trout plant scheduled for the week of December 12th.
