The lake dropped this week just below 9 percent capacity. The bass action has been fair and it has been more a quality than numbers showing. Bass have been biting on A-rigs, swimbaits, jigs, and shaky heads. There is somewhat of a reaction bite as well with anglers scoring on small cranks. Trout imitation swimbaits are getting better models. Crappie continue to show from 10 to 30’. They are being found in the submerged trees and near the structure around Red’s Marina and French Gulch. Live minnows continue to get bites along with crappie jigs. Catfish are still eating anything that smells, but anglers are doing best on chicken livers and dip bait. Since the most recent DFWL trout plant the bite has been fair. Trout dough bait is scoring the most fish with minijigs and night crawlers getting some takers as well.
