Largemouth and Smallmouth bass have been biting pretty well over the past week on various baits throughout the day. Early morning hours have been great for top water baits and weedless setups for soft plastics or nightcrawlers have been successful along the grasslines of the lake. Stripers are beginning to boil around the lake during the morning as well and anglers have had luck trolling down deep during the heat of the day. Top water baits, jerkbaits and lead heads with shad style soft plastics have been great baits for the boils and umbrella rigs or heavy kastmasters to troll around the lake with later on in the day. Catfish are also still biting pretty consistently down deep in the coves off nightcrawlers, sardines, anchovies and chicken liver bait and wait style.
