Lake Hours: 6:30am to 4:00pm

Weather:???? The weather has been moderate. 50's in the morning and up to the 80's in the afternoon.

Stop by the Marina and tell us about your fish!

BASS
Most bass fisherman saw a slower bite this week, but some have done very well. The bass have moved off of the trout and have been following the shad schools popping up around the lake. Smokin' Shad flukes have been the bait of the week. Recommended approaches for the fluke are to fish them on an underspin or scrounger head. The Carolina rig has also been a standard using watermelon or green pumpkin creatures. But don't put your swimbaits away just yet the trout plant this week should revive the big bait bite.

TROUT
Trout chasers did fair this week. Those fishing in the coves near the marina with Powerworms under a water bobber, or mini jigs have snagged their share of rainbows. Powerbait and night crawlers have also duped some trout.

STRIPER
DVL saw less striper catches this week, but the trout plant this week should improve the fishing. Fishing near the marina with swimbaits have been the best way to get the big striper. Sam Gann of Riverside got a 13.96 pound striper fishing with a topwater lure outside the marina. Chris Nickerson of Hemet got the biggest striper of the week at 18.43 pounds. He was fishing from shore with a scrounger head and fluke combo on 6 pound test Maxima Ultra Green. What a fight!

CATFISH
"The fishing was so good it was sickening" remarked Trollmeister of Redondo beach who along with friend Pontoon got 12 cats their biggest at 23.66 and 17.20 pounds. They were fishing near the quarry with mackerel 20-30 feet down.

PANFISH
Panfish have retreated for the winter, but there have been some catches this week near the west dam with live worms.
