BASS
The bass bite slowed dramatically this week with small fish being caught on the drop shot, but big fish being rarely seen. Morning Dawn and Margarita Mutilator have been the colors most reported. The most reported spots have been either of the dams.
TROUT
The trout remain elusive at DVL. Those trolling 40-50 feet down with needle fish or nightcrawlers have caught some trout and the drift fishers have managed a few fish. The west dam and around restroom 3 have the most reported spots.
STRIPER
Stripers have yet to appear, but as the surface temps drop over the upcoming weeks we expect the bite to improve. Floating swimbaits or large topwater lures have been the best methods for striper in previous years.
CATFISH
The catfish have sunk their teeth into anglers bait this week.. The third cove of shoreline fishing, Rawson cove, and the inlet are the usual hot spots for catfish. Cut Bait such as mackerel, shrimp, or anchovies usually do the trick.
PANFISH
If all you want is an easy catch bluegill have been biting great along the dams. Live worms or mini jigs work the best.

Fish between 2 and 3 pounds are still lurking in 15 feet of water with bigger fish near 40 feet. Early morning anglers have reported a reliable topwater bite, but plastics and jigs were the mainstay of the day. You just can't lose by drop shotting small protected points, and brush...... The Diamond Valley Lake Fishing Report
Diamond Valley LakeBASS As DVL approaches its fifth year it continues to exceed anglers expectations. The quantity of bass being caught at DVL is beyond compare. Fish between 15 and 20 feet for small bass or 30 to 40 for the hogs. If you get on the water early topwater will be worth the effort. Drop shotting small protected points, the dams, or submerged humps with morning dawn, oxblood, or Margarita mutilator is the most reliable way to bass fish throughout the...... Read More
