The SFR charter aboard the Mirage with Captain Joe Villareal and crew was a success as the 22 anglers loaded up on limits of quality rockfish and a bunch of big fat whitefish for our days effort. We fished the Islands hard in the early morning hours hoping for a seabass or halibut and ended up hooking a few black seabass and a few mystery fish before heading to the rockfishing grounds. We loaded up on big reds and chuckles one drift after another and easily limited out in no time. We anchored on a reef and hammered the whities for awhile before hitting a few more inshore spots for something a little different. Lawernece Ngos' big whitefish took jackpot honors and earned him a prize package including a gift certicicate from Bob's Sporting Goods. Captain Joe and the crew were awesome as always and we all look forward to fishing on the Mirage again very soon for some of those, what are they called again, oh yeah WSB. We have another trip coming up this month on the Mirage and spots won't last long. Come fish we us, I have a real good feeling about this next one. See you on the water Don.
