Hey folks here’s your Coral Sea 3/4 day report. We set our sights for Santa Rosa Island this morning with great weather forecasted for the day. We started out fishing in the shallower water targeting rockfish. The fishing was slow to start the day. The water clarity was very murky in most spots which made fishing tough.

We ran around for the majority of the morning hoping for a condition change but never had one. We then decided to go hunt lingcod in the deeper water which was not bad. We had three great drifts on lingcod and even pulled up some doubles. As it was getting later we took a vote and left the lingcod zone for another shot at rockfish in shallow.

We found some great fishing to end our day where we put on a lot of ocean whitefish, reds, coppers and many other assorted rockfish. We fished as long as we could while it was biting and our group really took advantage of it.

For our 21 anglers that fished we caught 86 rockfish, 105 ocean whitefish and 37 lingcod. The Coral Sea is running a 3/4 day trip tomorrow and has a good amount of room open so book your reservations now for upcoming trips through our website or call the Santa Barbara Sealanding at 805-963-3564.
