Bass: Spawn is around the corner at DVL. Most reports have bass in 10 ??? 30 feet of water. Underspins, chatter baits, tube jigs, swimbaits, and drop rigged purple or green plastic worms have all enticed the largemouth. Reports have varied tremendously leading to no guaranteed spots, so it is great time to learn the lake. Ron Williams of Temecula got a 29.22 pound bag with the kicker at 8.27 pounds. He was fishing secondary rocky points in 10 ??? 20 feet of water with Zoom flukes. Jeff Kelly of Riverside got 4 fish totaling 24 pounds his biggest fish 9.5 pounds all caught fishing the north shore in 30 feet of water with Huddleston swimbaits. Terry Mersy of Cardiff got a 7.7 pound bass fishing in 10 feet of water with senkos.

Trout: ??Shore anglers as well as boaters were achieving trout limits mainly trolling from the surface down to 30 feet. Jointed Rapalas or nightcrawlers combined with flashers were the best choices for trolling. The marina the east dam and the north shore were the hottest trolling areas. Shore anglers saw that nightcrawlers, Powerbait, or mini jigs combined with a trout worm trailer generated the best success. Michael Mendiola of Lake forest got a 5.86 pound trout fishing in Rawson cove with a fluke. Turner Williams of Temecula got a 3 pound trout fishing the east dam with a fluke. George Boggs of Riverside got a 3.71 pound trout fishing with Powerbait on the east dam. Shore angler Jim Mehan of Winchester got two trout at 5 and 4 pounds fishing with nightcrawlers.

Striper: There were few striper reports this week. Shore anglers have had the majority of luck . Trout swim baits, Plugs or large topwater baits were the most reported lures for striper. Fishing points near the marina or on the inlet remain proven spots for boaters. ??

Catfish: Great spots for catfish are the third cove of shoreline fishing, and near the east dam or wave attenuator. The most effective baits included anchovies, mackerel, and raw shrimp. Most catfish have been found on the bottom in 25 - 50 feet.

Panfish: There were few panfish reports this week, but most anglers have the best luck fishing along the dams, specifically near the stairways. Anglers have found that fishing 20 -30 feet off the dams using live worm dropped to 25 feet has been a consistent method. Yvonne Southerland of Fontana got a 2.88 pound crappie fishing the south shore with a Rapala.
