The Close of the Pot of Gold Halibut Derby open fishing closed with a bang on Tuesday with Raul Hinojosa of Hacienda Heights bringing in a 31 lbs. Halibut to come in at 2nd place, this topped off a record week with 4 fish over 20 lbs. and many more in the high teens making for a hot week of competition as anglers tried to qualify for the top 25 to get in the fishoff that will be held this Sunday aboard the Icon. The Fish off is for the 1st and 2nd place jackpots totaling over $3,000 in cash and also prizes from 544 Lures, Maxima Fishing Line, Kencor Rods, Berth 55 Sea Food Deli, and Long Beach Sportfishing.

The Icon will be returning to a temporary winter time ?? day schedule Wednesday thru Sunday departing at 9 am and returning at 3 pm for $36-he is still fishing halibut and rockfish locally.
The Native Sun is running a Full Day trip Saturday and Sunday at 6am returning at 6pm with a ticket of $60, this will either be local or Catalina depending on what the Captain thinks is better fishing! Then on Monday and Tuesday the Native Sun is running a special for $40 on a ?? day trip departing at 7am returning at 5pm
