7.01.16 Coral Sea 1/2 Day Trip Good afternoon folks we are meandering our way back up the coast after a relaxing day of coastal 1/2 day fishing. We spent the first part of our trip today fishing rockfish and had steady fishing on mostly large olive & yellowtail rockfish, with a sprinkling of reds and brown rockfish...We then fished for surface fishes for the last 90 minutes or so of our trip. Surface fishing was pretty steady on mostly sub-legal, 12-13.5" calico and sand bass but there were some nice legal-sized bass mixed in. Rafa hook & handed a lady angler a very nice white seabass and shortly after one of our young anglers hooked and landed a second seabass...Our 21 anglers today captured 2 white seabass, 7 calico bass, 5 sandbass, 1 halibut, 4 lingcod, 2 sheephead, 5 ocean whitefish, 20 reds, 175 misc. rockfishes, and the kitchen sink... The Coral Sea has a 1/2 day trip scheduled on Sunday and 3/4 day trips next Monday-Wednesday.
