FISH ABOUND! on friday the 12th, 5 croppie to 2.5 lbs. were caught, also 2 largemouth bass were landed 3.5 and 4 lbs respectavly.

an 8 lb. carp and and 2 smallmouth bass.

However, wait for it... on Saturday the 13th, the fish started to explode!

one group got 3 large mouth bass on jigs fishing around the points that stick out into the main body of the river. another group put 15 largemouth on their deck, and just two individuals went home with 50, thats right 50 crappie. 25 being the limit per person. 210 smallmouth was the total for the day on night crawlers and hula grubs.

This week has been perfect weather for fishing with low winds and warming tempts, but still no pressure fishing wise with only a few anglers coming out. Catfish and carp topped the charts this week with Drake Cove and Mohawk Bay being the hot spots. One local fisherman from Lompoc used his homemade stink bait to bring in many carp and catfish around the Mohawk area. The biggest carp weighed in at 8lbs and his catfish stringer was about 10lbs total.
