The mornings have been cold and the fishing has been warm.

Jason Wendel from Ventura caught a 11.2 pound bass using live shad. Brian Satura from woodland hills caught a 10 pound bass using swim bait. Paul Baradat from oxnard caught a 9 pounder using kastmaster. Jon Lopez from oakview caught and released 6 bass. The biggest was a 6 pounder and the smallest was a 2 pounder. He used live shad as well. Sam Arellano caught a 10.5 pound catfish using a night crawler.

The bait right now appears to be plastics, shad, night crawlers and swim bait.

Fishing has been pretty decent here. The catfish are pretty shallow right now. 10-20 ft and they seem to bite on mackerel, anchovies, and pretty much anything that stinks! The bass are pretty deep. 20-40 ft and they are biting on night crawlers, plastic worms, and jigs. The trout and perch are pretty slow. We are having a trout plant next week so they should pick up. We had a plant last week. Fisherman are doing the best in the wadleigh arm using power bait. The woppers this week are: Nick Taminich from Ventura caught a 9.8 pound bass on a crawdad. Saviah Reynoso from Oakville caught an 11.7 pounder using swim bait. Pisa Victoria from Oxnard caught a 7.5 pounder using plastics. Lisa Peterson from Oxnard caught a 12 pound catfish using mackeral!
