Lake Isabella is holding at 33% of capacity. The winter bass bite has been strong, producing quality fish on jigs, Senkos, deep-diving crankbaits and even a few swimbaits. Engineer Point, Rocky Point and Piney Point are all producing in 10–20 feet of water. Contacts reported several fish over 5 pounds, with the biggest hitting 8 pounds. Deep cranks, swimbaits and underspins are also working well off Camp 9 rocks, Rocky Point, Piney Point and Engineer Point in 15–25 feet. The crappie bite remains solid, with small shiners, mini jigs and Indian crickets doing best around the marinas. Catfish action has been steady lake-wide, with wax worms and stink or dough baits being the top producers.
