Just got a report from Capt. Greg Ewart (Capt. Jeff Bunde is taking a much deserved break) and the fishing is good! The guys are pulling up good size reds, and there's smiles on everyone's faces! They're on their way back in now with limits of rockfish and 12 lingcod for 27 anglers! The fishing has been outstanding recently and it shows no signs of slowing. The weather forecast looks beautiful and there's no better place to be than on the water with a fishing rod in your hands! We have a special event lined up for you tomorrow on the Island Spirit, the Rent-Rod Challenge! Every man (and woman) is created equal for this event, the rules being that the only tackle that you are allowed to bring with you are your weights, nothing else! Leave all your fancy reels and custom wrapped rods at home, we're getting down and dirty on the Island Spirit fishing with nothing other than rent rods from the landing! There will be lots of prizes and everyone will have a great time! The rent rod challenges are always a favorite of the anglers, and with fishing the way that it is right now, this will be one to write home about!
