Now is the time to take the family for a summer fishing picnic!
The bluegill & largemouth bass bite has been awesome all day. Kids are having a fantastic time catching fish all day. Whether you are on the shore or in a boat you will have a great time. The best times to come are in the morning & later afternoon so you can beat the heat in the middle of the day.
All along the shore from the concession building down to the flats, and the boat dock have been productive for bluegill and bass. If you are in a boat, the large island and the back side of the lake have been good for the bass and three pipes has been great for the bluegill. The best baits to use are night crawlers and meal worms. For the bass early morning top water has been good.
Catfish has been really awesome down in the flats. Off the shore by the launch ramp or in a boat about 20 ft south of the island towards the flats. Night crawlers, mackerel, and shrimp have been the best baits. A couple of anglers this past week got their limits from a boat and continued to catch & release from shore. They were using night crawlers.
