Our annual trip aboard the PACIFIC ISLANDER sold out quick when the White Seabass and Halibut numbers started showing with good numbers in the counts. Capt Steve Virtue and his crew greeted us and assisted everyone as we climbed aboard and claim our bunks for the night, after our safety briefing and plans for the day we held the ever popular raffle for some goodies. We had T-shirts from SFR and tackle from the CHANNEL ISLANDS SPORTFISHING tackle shop as prizes and everyone came out a winner. The crew was busy getting everyone set up for the next morning to make sure they had the best chance at catching those local island exotics.

We were greeted with some strong winds and fairly roughs seas as we started our drifts for the elusive White Seabass and Halibut. Our efforts were rewarded with one White Seabass coming in at around 35 lbs. After giving it our best, Capt Steve decided it was time to go rockfishing and ensure that everyone went home with fish, the bite was scratchy at best but we put in the time. We got limits of rockfish for everyone and a few ling cod in the counts before we had to call it a day and head back to the landing.

If your interested in having a great time on the water and catch some quality fish give the landing a call at 805-382-1612, you can get on a boat for a 1/2 day trip all the way up to the very popluar 2 day trips.
