Lake Skinner Park Hours: 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Lake Skinner Marina Hours: 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Water Temperature: 76 degrees, up 2 degrees from last week
Fish Report:
Bluegill: Still going strong expecially across from the marina or East Bay. It is best to fish for the Bluegill at a depth of 10'. The most effective bait has been nightcrawlers, mealworms, red worms and crickets. Use small amounts of bait that just cover a #6 or # 10 hook. Light lines with only small or clear bobbers work best at this lake. It is after spawning time for the Bluegill right now so you can work a mini jig slowly through an empty nest.
Catfish: The Catfish bite is very hot right now, this is their spawning time. Fish any cove at 5' to 10' with cut baits. Catfish are an excellent catch right now with the warmer weather & recent stocking of Cats. They seems to be hanging out around Ramp 2 or in the coves. The Kitties are hitting Chicken Liver, nightcrawlers and redworms.
Largemouth Bass: Largemouth Bass are hanging out in the reeds hitting on frogs, poppers or nightcrawlers.
Stripers: Anglers have been fishing for Stripers in the early morning boils at the Inlet using Chicken Liver, Anchovies or trolling Umbrella rigs.
Trout: The trout bite has been virtually non-existent.
