Productive day in Ventura! Our 3/4 day Island Spirit had 45 anglers and Pacific Eagle had 11 on a private charter. Both had success in there target species for the day.. Rockfish galore for the "spirit" and more white seabass (up to 51 pounds) for the "eagle". Pacific Dawn also fished, and caught quality outer islands rockfish for its 18 angler charter.
This past week has produced: local trips on the Pacific Eagle and Island Spirit are "on the fish" and bringing back some PIGS up to 60+ pounds and hundreds of barracuda up to 11 pounds. Surface action has began early this year.. however bottom fishing is not over yet. Many of our trips will now be "combo" trips, giving our anglers a chance for a prize game fish while still ending the day with rockfish and lingcod.
Pacific Dawn has several outer island open trips coming up also.. White seabass and Halibut are ready to pop at the outer islands, but in the mean time they will continue bringing back bag loads of red snapper and lingcod from San Miguel, San Nicolas or Santa Rosa Island.
