Water Temperature: Runs between 53 and 55 degrees.
Water Level: Has remained the same with no inlet flow.

Bluegill: Can be found at 70 feet in the water column. They are feeding on crickets this time of year.
Catfish: The Cats are still deep. Very few Cats have been reported. The preferred baits are sardines, anchovies, nightcrawlers and chicken liver.
Largemouth Bass: The Largemouth are finally moving into the shallows up against the reeds. They are very fat and slow but are showing interest in jerk baits, swimbait, crankbait, senkos, and of course roboworms. We saw some awesome pictures of a 7 lb., 7.4 lb. and a 9.0 lb.
Striped Bass: No real change in the Striper report this week. As the water temperature moves up we expect the Stripers to move up from the deep water. So for now it is deep water action only with umbrella rigs, downriggers or spoons. One beautiful 22 lb Striper was caught by Russ Nieva, pictured above at the northshore with a Huddleston swimbait.
Trout: Limits have been caught all week with nightcrawlers and PowerBait. All colors worked well and garlic scent was important. Small power worms in brown, orange or blood red colors and white mouse-tails or any small jig worked well. We also have to mention Kastmaster, Super-dupers, Panther Martins and roostertails for attracting the trout bite. After the trout plant they will stay near the Ramp 2 area but they will be scattered as the week goes on. The East Bay area should be a good area to fish. The next trout plant will be February 15th.
