BASS
Bass fishing has been good. Anglers are catching bass anywhere between 30 ft to surface of water. Chris Velotta from Menifee caught a 13.02 lb bass using a 12 inch worm in 10 ft of water. Majority of the fish reported were caught on senkos or dropshotting pink or purple plastic worms. Colored plastics, such as, Margarita mutilator and Morning dawn have been effective.
STRIPER
Striper fishing is going strong. Recent catches have been in multiple areas. 13 year old Dylan Hetrick caught a 11.53 lb striper on a spin bait. Also Bill Stone from Hemet caught a monster striper weighing in at 19.04 lbs on the south shore using a lure. Anglers are still catching fish on sardines and anchovies.
CATFISH
Catfish have started to be reported by anglers this week. Oanhta from Pomona caught a 13.97 and 10.98 lb catfish using sardines at the 3rd cove of shoreline. Nightcrawlers and shrimp work well also for catfish.
TROUT
Trout have been very slow. The best depth for the trout are under 80 ft of water. Try trolling your best lure by the west dam. Powerbait, mini jigs, and nightcrawlers work well for trout when they are being caught.
PANFISH
Say hello to the redear and blue gills. We had a lot of reports this week. Elliott M Lewis JR and SR, Devontea Lewis, and Elijah Lewis caught quite a few panfish using redworms by the east dam. Their top blue gill and redears weighed 1.10, 1.04, 1.11,1.21, and 1.73lbs. Way to go Lewis family! Anglers reported limits of bluegill using jigs and mealworms.
