Both largemouth and smallmouth bass made a good showing last week, and anglers were able to produce limits with some work. Most fish are 20" to 25" and are taking drop shot, texas rigs, spinnerbaits and jigs.
The trout bite was fair, and trollin needlefish and Kastmasters from the surface to 15' in the Santa Cruz Bay. Cachuma Bay and from Jackson's to the dam were the most productive areas. Crappie still down in the narrows and are coming on trolled C.D. Rapalas and small spinners. Slabs up to 2.5 lbs. were reported at the boat launch. Bow fishing had been on aagain off again affair, but should steadily get better in a couple of weeks or so. Except for an incidental catfish, all other species were very slow.

Bass fishing was tough with most fish retreating to 25' or more around Arrowhead Island or the narrows. Jigs and blades accounted for the majority...... Read More
