The biggest trout of the Corona Lake season came out this past Saturday when Juan Marin, Chula Vista, pictured above landed a 21  ?-pound rainbow from a boat of Trout Point on a chartreuse floating bait.

While the big fish caused a stir, it was the steady procession of quality stringers flowing through the check station that everyone was buzzing about with trout weighing a solid two-pound average, and many stringers having kicker fish from three to four pounds.

Gary Jubilado, Alhambra, had an 8  ?-pound rainbow to top off his three-fish catch made on green floating bait at the dam. Jessie, Jeff, and Diego Moreno, of Rialto, Santa Ana and Ontario respectively, had 10 trout for a total of 28 pounds, all on chartreuse and garlic floating bait from a boat. Their top fish was a 4  ?-pounder. Dylan Hartman, San Bernardino, had 10 trout for 23  ? pounds, while Jeramey Michels, Pomona, landed 10 fish for 23 pounds. Joey and Tayha Salazar, Pomona, had 10 rainbows for 22  ? pounds. Andrew Daily, San Diego, had five trout for 17 pounds, including a five-pounder, fishing worms from a boat.

The best action has continued to be on floating dough baits in bright colors with the garlic and hatchery pellet flavors top bets. Small jigs and trout plastics have also been good, and adding scent to the baits or lures had been a good idea. Boat and float tube anglers have also been having better success than shore anglers.
