To our valued customers, Due to a lack of participation and poor fishing the Pot O' Gold Halibut Derby will conclude effective at the end of Sunday May 1, 2011 fishing. The Derby was run late due to a remodeling of the Native Sun in consideration of expressed interest in participating by our customers. It has become apparent at the halfway mark that creating a Top 25 Fish off is improbable given the participation level and for that reason the derby will conclude. The annual pass will be awarded to the largest fish caught as of May 1, 2011. The Pot O' Gold will be distributed evenly to all anglers on the Top 25 list as well as a prize package provided by our sponsors. We would like to thank all of you who did participate and we look forward to seeing all of you aboard the Native Sun as she resumes her regular 3/4 day freelance run beginning Wednesday 5/4/2011. Long Beach Sportfishing takes great pride in the success of the Pot O' Gold Derby and we look forward to seeing all of you for a Bigger and Better derby on the Newly remodeled Native Sun in January 2012. We would like to thank all of our sponsors for their generosity, (544 Lures, AA's Lures, Avet Reels, Berth 55 Fish Market & Seafood Deli, Blue Engravers, Charkbait, Optimum Baits, Pelagic, Phenix Rods, Pro-Line, Promar, San Pedro Bait Co., Southland Spine Center, SportfishingReport.com, WFO Sportfishing.) Your dedication to the success of our derby is noted and greatly appreciated. Thank You Long Beach Sportfishing Crew M/V Native Sun Crew
