Our salmon special aboard the Island Spirit had no biters today. Wonderful weather though, and even got a couple of gray whales to put on a short show. But as for fishing, it was not to happen. "Little to no bait in the area, it just seems to need more time for the bait to gather and the fish to condence". Only 5 fish rumored to have been caught in the entire fleet today. We will be keeping a sharp eye on the conditions and reports to give it another try soon. Stay Tuned! Before making the run back home the Island Spirit stopped by a rockpile to catch a couple hundred red snapper. Captain Pat Cavanaugh of the Pacific Dawn had decent fishing on his "West End Special", catching quality shallow water rockfish and 5 lingcod. Great weather still.. looking forward to the upcoming week. Tomorrow we have charters, but Wednesday we are back on our normal schedule.
