It is a shame that the weather was not better this past weekend as the week leading up to it showed several signs of good fishing. We got another stock of trout and that shoud do nothing more than increase the trout bite and will hopefully continue to make the striper more active. Trout fishing has been good with many people reporting limits. Blown-up worms and Powerbait has been the best baits while some fishermen have reported good luck with Kasmasters and spinner baits as well. Striper fishing is also doing well with most of the linesides ranging around 2-3 pounds and even a few limits of striper as well. Chicken liver seems to have been the bait of choice this past week. However, anchovies and shad have also been working well. Ramp#2 area and the East End have been the hot spots, but the inlet when the water is flowing is always a good option as well. As far as artificial baits go for the striper, swimbaits have been the best but more reports are coming in the rattle traps and larger kastmasters are also working. Some big news is that the catfish are still biting as well as some bluegills. A few bass are also being reported, but most of the fishing has been concentrated on trying to catch trout and striper as of late.

Rate the action based over the past week:
Bass ==> Fair
Bluegill ==> Fair
Catfish ==> Fair
Striper ==> Good
Trout ==> Good

Trout were hitting everything from powerbait, worms and even some kastmasters and rooster tails. The best...... Read More

Cats are hitting mostly chicken liver but some action has been reported off of mackerel as well. South Shore and the Dam/Inlet have been the best stop to head for the catfish. Striper fishing slowing is gettig better. Morning bite has been the best,...... Read More
