The catfish is hardly red hot, but several kitties are still being caught. Most are hitting those fishing for the striper in deeper waters near the dam/inlet. The catfish are hitting anchovies and chicken liver, and many fishermen say that they also picked up several cats off of worms as well. Striper this past week was more or less the same as it has been these past few weeks. Boils in the morning and late evening not really fishable. Most of the striper that are coming in are being reported caught in the morning hours. East End, Ramp #2 and Inlet are the best areas for the striper right now. Striper are hitting chicken liver and anchovies, but for those who are working the artificial angle, top water poppers and rattle traps as well as kastmasters have been reported as doing well in picking up striper. Bass are there, but fairly slow from what most have said this past week, and although they are likely still out there somewhere, both the bluegill and the carp seemed to disappear off the caught list.
Rate the action based over the past week:
Bass: ==> Fair
Bluegill: ==> Poor
Catfish: ==> Good
Striper: ==> Good
