Trout fishing is definitely on the up-swing, with yet another 4000 lbs.
plant on Oct.14. Fish are being caught all over the lake, and trolling 3
to 8 colors, drifting crawlers or bait from shore have all been producing
'bows to 2 lbs. the bass bite has been sporadic, but still good numbers
of both small mouth and large mouth are taking a variety of shad baits.
Most fish are in the 15' to 25' range. Catfish still be frequently
reported, and mackerel in the backs of coves providing steady action.
Crappie bite is slowing somewhat, and only a few slabs being reported,
and those fish were taken on white mini-jigs in the narrows. No bluegill
or red-ear were reported last week. Opening day for bow-fishing is
Oct.28 and lots of carp still up on top on sunny afternoon. Call

Cachuma LakeThe recent trout plant has provided only spotty action for rainbows. Once fish accumiulate, fishing should greatly improve. Another 4,000 lbs. of trout to be planted October 14th.
