I had the pleasure of joining Team En Fuego on a charter aboard the Aloha Spirit with Captain Shawn Steward and Crew. My daughter Alicia wanted to get out and soak a line before school was back in session, little did I know I was the one being schooled! Okay, I'll have to admit, Rockfishing in August is a little weird, but sometimes you got to take the conditions for what they are and just enjoy being out on the water with friends and family. The fishing was no exception! Captain Steward took us to a few of his honey holes before the afternoon weather came up. We loaded our bags with nice Reds and Chucks, then we went in toward the beach and fished the shallows.

As usual, we had a blast fishing aboard the Aloha Spirit. Special thanks to Dean and Candy for all of the hard work and love they put into their charters. It always feels like a family reunion and I'm looking forward to next month's charter. The weather has been excellent and there's still some great fishing to be had at our Northern Channel Islands.
